What a powerful writer, offering a perspective seldom heard, from the patient undergoing pain and intensive treatment. A narrative about self, family, love, fear and anxiety. She interprets every moment with clarity, even to the looks and subtle reactions she receives from family and workers. I’m overwhelmed with compassion for Xochtil and the family.
